Endo A.C.T. is located in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT), Australia. We are the only Canberra-run endometriosis charity. We exist for women* in the ACT and the surrounding region with endometriosis. At a conservative estimate this is more than 15,000 women*.
Endo A.C.T. hosts regular awareness and support events. We manage a closed facebook page and invite anyone who has, or suspects they have, endometriosis to join this page. We conduct an awareness campaign and advocate for improved treatment.
Endo A.C.T. main focus is endometriosis but we fully acknowledge that a variety of other issues are closely related; such as adenomyosis, polycystic ovary syndrome, fibroids and infertility.
Endo A.C.T. is run by an enthusiastic team who have, or are close to someone who has, endometriosis and therefore have first-hand knowledge of the debilitating effects of this disease. We are NOT medical professionals. Nor do we profess to be. We are a community who work together and support each other.
Endo A.C.T. is a member of Endometriosis.org, the World Endometriosis Society and is registered as a charity with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profit Commission. As a registered charity any donations you make to us can be claimed as a tax deduction.
*Endo A.C.T. acknowledges the LGBTI community and individuals who may not identify as women.
Increasing awareness of Endometriosis
Endo A.C.T. mission is to increase awareness of endometriosis and improve medical treatment of endometriosis patients in the ACT and surrounding region.
Endo A.C.T.'s vision is to improve the lives of endometriosis patients. We are working to help normalise conversations about period and pelvic pain so problems can be addressed quickly. We are advocating for better treatment paths and better support for endometriosis patients.
